Black Potion is the dream of François LaFontaine, who embarked on a life-changing journey at the age of 25 when he decided to move to Los Angeles, California. In 2005, he began working at one of the world's first specialty cafés, where he mastered the art of roasting and brewing the perfect cup of coffee.
In 2013, François opened Café Capitale, the first specialty coffee shop in Brussels. Since then, he has worked with hundreds of coffee origins and developed a variety of roasting profiles.
From the very beginning, Black Potion has been dedicated to offering high-quality, seasonal beans sourced from around the world. We combine classic and modern processes to curate what we believe is one of the finest selections in Belgium's coffee scene.

Humble beginnings
Our story begins in a small shop with a small team. With nothing but passion and a dream our brand was born. 12 years later, Cafe Capitale is positioned as one of the best in Brussels.
